Why Savvy Events?

Savvy Events was founded by Paula Dozier. Paula Dozier was born in Franklin, VA. She graduated from Sue Miller Dorsey High School in Los Angeles, California and then attended Hampton University in Hampton, VA where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Childhood Development. She is a certified teacher in grades Pre-K – Fourth and has retired after teaching for 37 years. Currently, she fills her days with substitute teaching and reading to student through the Listening Paws Program, when not planning events for clients.

Paula has over 10 years’ experience in decorating and planning events. She has designed events for birthdays, weddings, bridal showers, baby showers, retirements, and more. What started out as a hobby, has grown into a full-fledged business.

Paula has always been inspired by art and prides herself in getting more for less. She was raised by strong, independent and smart women and throughout her entire life has drawn strength from her relationships with the women in her life. She admits her daughter is her inspiration and helps to keep her designs current and hip for her younger clientele. She raised two daughters who are successful, working in government and law. Her step-mother, June Flemming, was the Franklin City Manager for three years and her grandmother was local community leader Pauline Morton.
